A small reflection on fashion.
Talking about fashion is to talk about everything and nothing at the same time, specially in a context like Colombia where the act of copying internationall products is rewarded by the media as great design.
Anyway today is one of those days, depression day...I`m on one of those seasons where everything seemes to go wrong and I wonder if it`s really worth it to go on with this project. I`ve been really busy lately without much time to take the photos, that`s allright...it`s the lack of creativity, the lack of risk of Bogotá that stresses me.
Talking about fashion in this city is hard, you come across great barriers and you start to wonder
How can I interpret fashion in a context where more than half of it`s population live under the line of poverty?
How can I spect a person to know what`s going on in the world when only six million homes in Colombia have internet acces?
Here in TRENDYBOGOTA we like to interpret fashion as a propositive act, a mean of expression, a tool to show who we are, but in Bogotá there is no such thing...It is a pleasure reserved for a minority (almost inexistent) and that is depressing.
Is it that much to ask?...a little more risk?...it seems like it`s a lot to ask.
P.D: Please excuse my english.
